Eternal – Sleep

From: Eternal – Breathe – 7” Label: Sarah Records Catalog#: SARAH 31 Format: Vinyl, 7″, Single Nation: UK Released: Jun 1990 Genre: Rock Style: Shoegazer, Indie Rock Christian Savill (b. six Dec 1970) – guitar & vocals, Stuart Wilkinson – bass guitar, Michael Warner – drums. They had numerous other members who helped out with live stuff and numerous other items, those people were: Sean Hewson – guitar, Alan Bryden – cello, and Darren Seymour – guitar and vocals. Formed in late 1989 in Reading through, England. What did they release? Sadly, they only released one particular 7″. That’s it. But what a release it was! Dreamy fuzzed out guitars drenched in reverb gliding over brilliant pop melodies. It was way before its time, highly underrated and unappreciated, and was heavily influencial to shoegaze bands to follow. Slowdive even did a cover of “sleep”, despite the fact that they in no way released it. The 7″ was released on Sarah records in 1990, around 2000 copies have been pressed. On it were 3 tracks recorded in February 1990, entitled “breathe”, “sleep”, and “take me down”. Being admittedly inept at recording and reduced on cash, they had to record the single and mix it in about five hrs. The authentic demos for those tracks had been recorded in December 1989 at White Residence Studio, Weston-Super-Mare. Oddly sufficient, the original unreleased demos really sound like much better mixes than the released versions, but yet again this is most most likely due to the hurried nature of the seven inch’s recording session. In addition …
Artist: Darkthrone Album: Under a Funeral Moon Song: Natassja in Eternal Sleep This is one particular of the most essential black metal songs to me. The video is composed of extracts from the interviews with Darkthrone.

MMM thank you for loadig
please
someone tell me how to play this fucking song!
anyone know the chords/tuning for this?
The instrumental break, I think Ozzy Osbourne might have used that for the chorus of his song “Dreamer”, it sounds similar.
it is truly unreal that this really exist…. despite the low quality, it is the one emotional songsof all time.
finisima musica ke malo ke haiga muy pokitas
So beautiful, so controlled. I desperately miss the 90s. The deterioration of the music scene from then to now is staggering.
I’m a Slowdive devotee, but I have to admit, I actually prefer this version
One of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard
but very beautiful.
have this single on vinyl =)
i wish i still had this single, the best track was “Take me down” which unfortunately wasn’t issued by Sarah on CD
oh my god!!! i heard the SLowdive version and i never knew it was a cover, this is amazing!
10 people only knew the new darkthrone
Forest…i wonder where ive seen that before
gotta love it hehehe
this is the best thing that makes me beelieve in really art
@louiscfc93 The only pre-Blood Fire Death album I’ve listened to is The Return….Of course I’ve listened to several songs from the two others, but not the whole thing. But I know that they were quite close to black metal.I focus more on their works after Blood Fire Death.I didn’t like The Return… as much as the later stuff. But I think that Bathory’s influence on black metal comes mostly from their first three albums.
@ChristinaDarkRose well bathorys first album is quite thrashy.the first two are certainly closer to venom than the other albums.under the sign was where the bathory sound started to develop
@louiscfc93 Thank you!I agree with you.The interesting is that most of these bands are thrash.Except for Bathory, but Bathory is something unique,no one can reach them.
@ChristinaDarkRose all the bands in the early/mid 80s who had dark and satanic lyrics were the template.slayers first album, sodoms first album, early destruction, venom, hellhammer, masters hammer, root, bathory.im sure there were more
@ChristinaDarkRose No band in particular “created” black metal, although Venom coined the term for a sound/aesthetic that was an evolution and progression of NWOBHM
@metalcorefan93 Thank you!I think so,too, but It was maybe Venom that inspired it,even though they played extreme thrash metal.
@ChristinaDarkRose i think Bathory did..
Which band created black metal?
@UserNameForYeeTube Im with you on that. I love black metal, but I cant get into the punk rock style a lot of bands has aquired, or are still infusing. Raw actrual blackmetal has its own certain essence.
THE BEST OF THIS ART, THRUE BLACK MEtAL!!!!
I like some songs from Circle The Wagons, that’s why I’m checking Darkthrone in general. This song here is black metal I can stand and enjoy.
@WickedWildfire yes it has been, just listen to panzerfaust.
gr8 song and such nice harsch vocals, never have been so agressive again since this… awesome!
Natassjaaaaaaa!!!
Black Metal, the way it is!!!!
